About ANNUAL ECONOMIC FORUM ’18

The issues of accelerated technological development in Lithuania and the whole Europe today are among the most urgent ones. It is essential for Lithuania to promote productivity, improve education system and workforce skills, and expand digital technologies in order to remain competitive on the global market. Our productivity is substantially stagnant and remains significantly lower than the OECD average. Moreover, it is very unevenly distributed among the regions, where its distribution ratio is very important.

The relevance and applicability of science as well as business and science cooperation should become among the key factors when it comes to sustainability of the country’s economy and business competitiveness. The development of higher value-added products, investments in artificial intelligence, education and other fields are now of particular importance to the growth of competitive economy and productivity increase. Many sustainable economies have already solved or successfully addressed these issues. Therefore, our Forum provides a great opportunity to discuss these issues and share the opinions and advice of the leaders in this field.
